Six months ago Honda decided it would get social. Their new Crosstour design was to debut exclusively on a Facebook page. They put in product features, photos, and design differences from competitiors hoping to open up their world to social media users.

My marketing hero was not a college professor or the marketing director of a Fortune 500 company. My marketing hero was my father. Meeting the needs of customers in good times and bad times is important for all retailers. Our customers’ needs have never been greater than in today’s economic environment.

In furniture the number 42 is not as significant until you take a look at the Retail Planning Guide edition of your Furniture Today. According to retailer statistics, “58% of all furniture stores according to 2008 data have a website” (see below). That means that 42% of all furniture stores according to 2008 numbers do not have a website.

We as marketers and retailers owe it to Ms. Jones to begin emailing her the moment she trusts her personal email with us. Just telling her she is going to be recieving special offers, design tips and other various offerings you have at the store level is not enough. Show and reward her for her faith in your retail operation.

John Rash, a reporter and author of the “Rash Report” for Advertising Age, is an acclaimed media analyst. In his most recent article he is commenting on the ups and downs of Nielsen ratings for the network super powers, which shows are performing, which shows are not performing, and other various media gossip. Normally I disregard these articles but there was something about this particular article that caught my eye

Welcome to website version 6.0 for R&A Marketing. What is significant about website version 6.0?
The most recent adaptation of our website came from an epiphany while I was taking a class at the Wizard Academy in Austin, Texas. I was taking a “Web & Radio Copywriting class” and the teacher of the class asked if anyone wanted their website to be critiqued.
